Introducing DNLA The Label, founded by Perth-based designer Daniella Steyn, creates dreams you can wear through multifunctional garments that merge couture-inspired storytelling with everyday wearability. Rooted in transformation, emotion and self-expression, the label explores fashion as a deeply personal experience, designing pieces that empower the wearer to feel confident, effortless and entirely themselves.

Every garment is handmade slowly and thoughtfully in Western Australia using natural fibres and intentional circular design practices. Sustainability is embedded throughout the process, from limited-waste pattern making to repurposing off-cuts into future designs and details. Fabrics are laser cut to reduce waste and maximise precision, while small-batch, made-to-order production is supported through local manufacturer Textile Lab and their skilled team, reinforcing DNLA’s commitment to ethical, local production in the fight against fast fashion.

The debut release, Egg, marks the first stage of metamorphosis and draws inspiration from Metamorphia, a collection exploring identity formation and self-discovery as a migrant through the life cycle of a butterfly as a metaphor for navigating transformation across worlds. The multifunctional Egg Set is designed for the beginning before the world tells you who to be, embodying empowerment, versatility and freedom. It can be worn seven different ways and is available in black, purple, grey and white, currently at dnlathelabel.com. Brand new winter Maxi and Mullet Egg skirts will have an exclusive first release at the Slow Made Fashion Market, The Court Hotel, Perth, Western Australia on 31 May before becoming available online.
